School of Life Sunday Sermon

I went to the SoL Sunday Sermon last weekend at Conway Hall - like a village hall in the centre of London. David Baddiel shared his observations on fame; his own, other people’s and the myths surrounding this prized but also reviled status. I find the whole idea of being famous quite fascinating and have always wanted to ask people what it is actually like. On the (rare) occasion when I have met someone famous, it always feels un-cool to ask. His experience has been both funny and irritating in equal measure - one troll just sent him a tweet saying "Oi, Shit Beard!". There were hymns too; Fame by David Bowie and Creep by Radiohead, followed by tea and cakes.
